Ordered the Joy, it arrives, looking forward to making cards only to find out that the Joy at $179.00 does not even come with the card making mat. Disappointing! That is a lot of money not to include some of the basic essentials to make what they show you on their demos.

So, I noticed a lot of reviews are comparing this to other cricut versions or other brands and as I am a first time user like many of you (never used any brand or type of machine like this before), I wanted to share my view. I wanted to know what the ACTUAL MACHINE was like and not people whining about "it won't fit my other pens" or "it won't fit my other brand vinyl". Anyways for me, a first time user, this is pretty amazing. Very easy to learn and simple. The iPhone app has a bit of a learning curve, but it only took me a few tries. The add on supplies like markers and smart vinyl aren't that expensive for casual hobby use. It's awesome to be able to cut vinyl without one of those mat things.

The one star deduction? I feel like this should be priced at $99 beings that in order to access designs to cut/print, you need to pay for them individually or subscribe to their $10 per month service.

I bought this specifically to cut out stickers for my Etsy page, but no matter how much I edited my cuts to perfectly align with my stickers, the cricut would cut out in the exact same spot. Even when I tried to print from the app and cut from the print the cricut would move the cuts so they didn't align. I wasted $20 worth of my product trying to get this cricut to work for me. Had to exchange it for the cricut air, hopefully that one will be easier to use for stickers.
Disappointed to say the least.

I've wanted a Cricut for years but never had the money till recently. I ordered the Joy mainly cause it's cheaper and I just don't have the space for the larger models, and I'm so glad I did cause it is absolutely PERFECT for my needs. I mainly wanted it to make custom decals for my car & whatnot and the Joy is just right for that. I've made 4 or 5 already and they all turned out great. Super easy to use too, I was up & cutting within 10 minutes of opening the box.

I've wanted to purchase a Cricut for some time now but hesitated due to the size of the other machines. Which were so intimidating, not to mention the price tag in those bad boys! But now that they finally came out with a compact machine and I absolutely love it. Super easy to use and navigate through the app and make your very own unique creations. I'm in love! I've made a few cards and even a drawing all uploaded straight to the Cricut Design Space one my iPhone. Yes, you read that right the pictures were designed in the palm of my hand!

Overall I feel that I made the right purchase for me and my needs. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to do a little DIY crafts.

I've had the Joy for over a month and I love it! I always wanted a Cricut but didn't want the other models that were too big and I didn't need all the functions. This one is perfect for when you just want to do vinyl decals, labels and iron ons. The only reason why I'm giving it four stars is because my blade had to be replaced within a month, I did do at least 30 + decals/labels and some were very intricate. I don't know how many projects a blade is supposed to be able to do but I hope I don't have to replace it monthly.

Bought this to have some fun with t-shirt designs so I never intended to use for stickers or anything like that. The connectivity is frustrating and then there are VERY few "free" designs. I was super annoyed to find out that a lot of the designs I uploaded (from internet or free clip art) won't print, I went to use the cricut design app and the designs are $1.99 each. I got sucked in and bought a few only to find out they weren't compatible with the Cricut Joy. I did get the first month of the "design" feature free but didn't know that until after my purchases, but again, a LOT of the designs aren't compatible so I spend a lot of time designing something, have problems with connectivity to the Joy, then it's not compatible and then I have to go back and redesign. After the first month of free design, it's $9.99/month for access to clip art and certain fonts. If I'd known all of this, it would've been MUCH cheaper and much less frustrating for me to just purchase the t-shirts I wanted instead of investing in the Joy for $179 and left with huge disappointment.

Me quise esperar un par de meses para dar una opinión objetiva.
Este pequeño plotter es de buena calidad, resistente y tiene el tamaño adecuado para llevarlo a todas partes. Puedes trabajar de manera portátil desde tu celular, crear tus diseños y guardarlos como proyectos nuevos y después conectarte ya a tu plotter para mandar a corte, lo que le veo una gran ventaja para adelantar trabajo en esos pequeños ratos libres que tienes.
NOTA IMPORTANTE: si compras este sistema de corte y lo usarás para tu negocio, es importante saber lo siguiente, una vez que lo compras , tienes que adquirir la aplicación Cricut Design, la Cuál tiene un costo para México de $175 pesos mensuales, aquí tendrás acceso a toda la galería de imágenes para comenzar a crear tus diseños. De no tener pagada la membresía no tienes acceso a dicha galería, pero puedes trabajar importando imágenes de Internet siempre y cuando estén en un formato "PNG" o "JPG", Una vez que se encuentran en este formato podrás editarlas en el tapete de edición de Cricut, ya sea para corte o para imprimir y cortar. El detalle de esto, es que Cricut seguido hace actualizaciones en su plataforma, ellos lo llaman mantenimiento, dicha actualización desactiva seguido , ciertas funciones importantes para la edición de imágenes , como por ejemplo Offset, curva, tamaños E incluso haciendo la actualización, si no la hace bien , aparecerás como si no la tuvieras pagada, Las imágenes aparecerán con un costo Y no dirá suscrito cómo debe de aparecer cuando la tienes pagada, lo que te impedirá cortar. Inclusive hasta el método de pago, dependiendo de tu banco o de tu plataforma de pago, tarda de un día a dos en reconocer tu pago, en mi caso con Apple, se ha tardado dos días y me dicen que es situación del servidor de Cricut, considerando que el servicio dura 30 días, a esto réstale dos en lo que reconoce el pago. Cuándo sucede esto, pensarás que conectando el plotter a tu PC podrás trabajar de manera correcta, pero no es así, porque el perfil que tienes se actualiza de la mismas forma en todos tus dispositivos dónde lo tengas instalado ya sea en PC, tablet o celular. En mi caso que manejo los dos sistemas PC e iOS pasa lo mismo y esto me ha durado hasta una semana completa, me marca error en muchas funciones y no se puede hacer ningún trabajo. si llamas a los números de asistencia que vienen en la página principal, imposible que te contesten porque no lo hacen, si mandas correo al contacto de ayuda que la aplicación maneja, tampoco recibes, respuesta mmmm, sólo recibes una contestación automatizada diciéndote que se pondrán en contacto contigo a la brevedad y esto jamás sucede, actualmente, pensé que ya teniendo un Facebook para Cricut México, podría ser de gran ayuda y sin embargo esto no ha sido así, porque cuando les mandas este tipo de mensajes no te responden, sólo te responden preguntas relacionadas Con compras de productos , pero nadie te da asistencia. Para resolver este problema lo que recomiendo hacer, es quitar la app de tu celular y volver a instalarla, esto hace que se actualice y vuelvas hacer la conexión de tu plotter al celular , te pedirá hacer las pruebas como si estuviera nuevo y otra vez comenzar a usar tu plotter, Lamentablemente Joy te permitirá hacer trabajos no máximo a 15cm dependiendo los tapetes que tengas.
Y si piensas que teniendo un plotter más grande como Cricut Explorer o Cricut Maker será la solución , esto no sucede, porque pasa lo mismo con la plataforma Cricut Design, por lo que de nada sirve que tengas los dos y no puedes trabajar ningún, por eso es importante que consideres que este sistema, para un pequeño negocio no te puede funcionar al mil, te deja parado unos cuantos días, acumulándose el trabajo por que tardas en tener respuesta de la página. Realmente dependes de un tercero y de la colaboración y trabajos que hagan desde su país de origen. Pero aún así dentro de todo lo malo, cuándo tu plataforma se encuentra en perfectas condiciones, este sistema te deja trabajar sobre muchos materiales ampliando tu catálogo de productos. En si tiene cosa buenas como sus planchas tanto la PRESS, como la mini, la variedad de viniles es muy buena y la calidad de ellos también es bastante buena, los accesorios que tiene son de gran ayuda para tu trabajo. Pero sí es importante que tomes en cuenta todo lo anterior, por qué básicamente estarás entre una a dos semanas sin poder trabajar al 1000 con tu sistema Cricut, pero si lo que quieres hacer es para uso personal, no le veo mucho problema obtenerlo. The Joy is limited in it's uses compared to the Maker or Air so be sure you understand what it will/won't do. It does great permanent vinyl, iron-ons and cards. I bought it as a starter unit and I love how easy it is to setup and use. However after using for a few weeks I am starting to wish I had gotten the Maker for the larger size and print-and-cut option. Joy is a nice affordable way to get started in vinyl crafting. It's so fun!

Súper fácil de usar, el tamaño muy práctico y cómodo, no utiliza nada de espacio y los resultados de los cortes tanto en vinilo como en papel son espectaculares!!! An excellent product for those starting out with scrapbooking or creating labels and decals. Good for people new to cutting machines. Very portable. Does not do print and cut(which is expected, just thought I would warn you).
